The British Medical Association (BMA) last week wrote to the government demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Although the letter came three months late, the Resistance Kitchen welcomes the BMA’s call to end genocide.
The was signed by two doctors on behalf of the BMA, Professor Phillip Banfield – Chair of Council, and Dr Latifa Patel – Representative Body Chair and Equality Lead. Since then they have come under immense pressure with demands from the Israel lobby for their removal.
It’s particularly important for grass roots community organisations to support them so that other organisations will not shy away from speaking truth to power. A letter has been circulated for doctors and student doctors (BMA members) to sign to show their support.
As a community kitchen we can’t sign that letter so we have sent our own letter of support:
