Resistance Kitchen Update – Week 3

This week we launched a bakery section – a selection of fresh pastries and bread, inshAlllah we will try and make this a regular feature from now on. We also introduced strawberry jam on a trial basis.

We would like to thank the kind lady that so generously donated a full bag of non-perishable food. InshAllah next week we will include her generous donation on the stall.

If you would like to donate food, please note that we can only accept non-perishable items like tins and packets. Please remember that, being an Islamic organisation, we cannot include non-halal items on our stall so please check the ingredients- no meat, animal fat or alcohol ( fish like tuna, sardines is ok). Please contact us using the form on the contact page for more information. Thank you for your understanding.

It was extremely windy this week. We learnt that when there is a 46mph gale wind warning, its probably better not to use the gazebo. Special thanks to our guests who held down the legs of the gazebo to prevent our kitchen being swept in to orbit!

This week our Reflection Table continued to focus on the plight of children, and their teachers.

We also had a special dedication to a hero from the struggle against apartheid in South Africa, Imam Achmad Cassiem who passed away on friday.
