Political Prisoners
It had been revealed this week that their arrest under anti terror legislation and subsequent prosecution has been politically motivated by the state which is actively supporting this genocide in Gaza. Starmer’s hand picked Attorney General, Richard Hermer, personally signed off on the use of terror legislation against non-terrorist Palestine Action activists, including their co-founder Richard Barnard. Palestine Action claim to have discovered documents showing Israel lobbied the office of the Attorney General.
The #Filton10 are political prisoners, prosecuted for opposing genocide. We demand their freedom, and full transparency from the government.
Malcolm X in Gaza
This month marks the 60th anniversary of Malcolm X’s visit to Gaza (September 1964). We thought it fitting that we mark day 39 of the imprisonment of the #Filton10 whilst remembering Malcolm X.
One of the places in Gaza that Malcolm X visited was Khan Younis refugee camp which was created in 1948 to house Palestinians ethnically cleansed from their homes to pave the way for the creation of Israel.
In the current genocide Khan Younis was designated a safe zone to encourage Palestinians fleeing genocide to take shelter there, only to discover they were being rounded up for slaughter. Just a few days ago Israel again bombed the densely packed tent city sheltering around half a million Palestinians, killing 40 and leaving behind a 30 feet deep crater. It is very probable that the weapons used for this slaughter were provided by Elbit Systems – the very company targeted by the #Filton10.
